Clapham Demons 3.7.25 def. West London Wildcats 0.0.0

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!

Conference girls faced our rivals from over the river in West London Wildcats in trying conditions at the Common. The big freeze at the C was a great success and so was the effort from the girls on the ground.

Backs
Our defensive structure was perfect for the game that was played. Our set up behind the contest was excellent, allowing us to keep the ball in our forward half. G-Banger and Jaime led well from the back half and ensured the girls were well positioned. The pressure from the girls was awesome down back, when the Wildcats looked like getting it in their forward 50 Boone laid an awesome tackle and put a stop to that.

Midfield
Dominated the day lead by Prip and Gabby in the ruck. The mids set up again well around our forward 50 and the contest. This allowed our forwards space and plenty of opportunity to put a winning score on the board. GK, Lic, Sophie Aston, Beast, Arnie, Tori, Steely were great around the contest providing multiple entries into our forward line

Forwards
Our forward pressure was awesome never allowing the Wildcats much time to get the ball out of our forward 50. LK and Jacqui provided targets for us all day up forward making the most of there opportunities. Em H provided a good target for us up at full forward with a couple of set shots at goals.

Overall we dominated the game with 90-95% of the game played in our forward half. We played well even with gale force winds blowing across the Common.

It was an important win for the conference girls to keep our finals hopes alive. Ensure we get down to training again this week as we will continue to focus on our structure, skills and running patterns.
