South London Demons X.X.XX def. London Swans X.X.XX
For what seems like a weekly occurrence for the Super 3’s ‘‘twas another top of the table clash on the Common for our last home game of the year.
Still missing our 3 time premiership player and captain Terry Unitt we welcomed the London Swans for the first time to Clapham in the social division we’ve owned for the last 5 years.
Starting in Prime Time at 1pm on our home ground the boys jumped out of the blocks to show why we are undefeated with the usual stars of Lachlan Robinson, Mark Brescasin, Matt Casa and Ryan Hancock dominating in the opening stanza.
Returning to the super 3’s the other OE, Eóin O’Murchu lit up the game with some elite marking and straight kicking. What a treat having him back with us.
Speaking of comebacks, 2009 1’s Premiership player and 3 x 3’s premiership player and coach Ray 'Bubba' Wright jetted in from his Silicon Valley startup to don the Red and Blue once more and soared high to clunk the highlight of the first half and duly convert. Was amazing to have Bubba back for one more game 🙏
The Swans turned up in the 2nd and a little re jig of the team allowed us to assert control once more, the spiritual leader moving into the guts and Lachlan suring things up going into the last half.
With our star half back Pilgs dominating as usual and playing potentially his last game, we steadied the ship and managed to see off the valiant swans to assure ourselves a top 2 finish for the year.
Andy Smith with 2 goals, Bubba with 3, Bresc with 3, Robbo and OE with 1 and our new certified ‘Footy Star’ Clem provides us all with the goals...
Onto Portsmouth this week and the chance to go undefeated for the first time in Super 3’s history!!
C’mon lads!!!
