Grand Finals '19 - Demons v Swans (Women's Conference)

Lucy Ewington | 02.08.19

Clapham Demons 0.0.0 def. by London Swans 6.20.56

What a season the Conference Shedees have had. With a high turnover of girls this year, many injuries and girls away with travel plans, this team have fort nail and tooth to bring home the bacon each week and today was no different.

With an undeniable spirit from start to finish these girls played one of their best games yet for their Grand final. Despite the odds against them and reduced bench, we saw some great individual progress, which resulted in some awesome marks, tackles and structured play. With our coach Stu away, Ki Currie stepped up to lead us for the final dance. He did not disappoint us providing the girls with a clear game plan, structure, along with a wagon full of confidence. We were ready to back ourselves!!

We knew it was going to be a tough game against the Swans having played very well all season. Unfortunately the end result didn’t go our way, but the girls gave it everything and we couldn’t ask for any more than that.

I want to thank Stu Williams, Ki Currie, Nick Dundon and Ed Hooper for all their support this season. We are truly grateful.
