Round 2 - Mens Prem - Dee's v Wildcats

Ben Eddy | 19.05.22

Round 2 kicked off with the first home game of the season at the Clapham common against the reigning premiers, the Wildcats. And what a beautiful sunny day it was.

Coming off the back of a win last week against the Swans, the boys were coming in with all the confidence with this new looked demons team. Unfortunately it was not our day and the wildcats came away with the win.

Not to discredit our boys who were always going in hard at every contest. The middle pack did outstanding with our big ruckman Paul Watson not coming off once throughout the day and set our rovers up very nicely.

The forward line was more then happy to welcome back our captain James Noske who was one of the main targets in the forward 50. Leading, directing and and snagging a goal is why we love him and why he is one of the great leaders on and off the field. Shout out to coach Corso for bagging two goals himself.

The backline had a tough day as it was in the half for most of it but did not shy away at all. Welcoming back a club favourite, Issac Kirby had an absolute blinder of a day. Taking many intercept marks and saving us from a few more wildcat goals.

Whilst it wasn’t our day on Saturday. We have a lot to take away from the game and implement at our training sessions to become bigger, badder and stronger for next time. Another home game this week so let’s get around the Prems and get another win on the board.
