Rd 10: Demons vs Putney Magpies (Premiership)

The Premiership team had its last Home and Away match against a depleted Putney. With a differential of about 110 points from top spot we needed a big win to jump the cats and with this, the focus was on restricting scoring against. 

In the first term we started well, Rousey snagging 3 early setting himself up for a big day. Rabbits was clunking everything early and Hugo on the wing was sensational at winning possession and finding targets. We let 2 goals in against but they came fairly cheaply. 

The second quarter we started to get ontop and went in to the half time break with a 10 goal lead. 

The 2nd half everything went our way as we piled on 23 goals. Chiz went forward and provided a third tall target, finishing the day with 5. Cooney backed up a 7 goal performance last week with another 6 and Rabbits also finished with 5. Rousey finished with 13 and a total of 61 for the year, an excellent achievement. Hugo on the wing and Irish Kev were damaging on the halfback and wing and with a 200 point win we secured top spot and a home final next week!
